Elbow Room are seeking two actors for The Experiments, a short touring season of two fifty-minute plays in Victorian secondary schools, coordinated by Regional Arts Victoria.
We’re looking for two versatile performers, 21 - 35, who are experienced and/or keenly interested in working with young people. Bookings may include short workshops with students following the performances.
A current a) open driving license and b) Victorian Working With Children documentation will be required for the performance season (see dates below). First Nations performers, performers with disabilities and performers from CALD backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
The two plays - An Experiment with Waiting for Godot and An Experiment with The Caucasian Chalk Circle - each unpack an admired and misunderstood ‘classic play’, and look at what questions they still hold for us today. Exploding myths of ‘high culture’ at a rapid clip, The Experiments aim to make a few things clear, without pretending that they’re simple.
