DEVELOPMENT SERIES: CALL OUT FOR WRITERS
Elbow Room are offering opportunities to writers based on the continent of Australia to participate in paid development sessions, in which professional actors and theatre makers engage with their work.
Elbow Room values a diversity of perspectives and experiences. This development program is designed to assist writers to better articulate the central questions of their work, and assess its potential relationship with their audience.
Elbow Room are looking for scripts, at any stage including or after first draft, that are intended to provoke action to happen on a stage*, preferably for 40 minutes or longer.
All readings will be online through video software. Elbow Room will work with you to assemble a cast of readers and a dramaturg / discussion leader. Depending on your needs and preferences, there may also be auditors at each session.
Scripts that proceed to a reading and discussion will be paid at the rate of $160 for a 3-hour session.
*What a 'stage' might be is also up to you.
Click on the below link, read through the application form and answer a few short questions.
Applicants are required to send their script via email. Each applicant will receive a response. A total of 10 scripts will be chosen to be developed in 2020.
If you have any questions please email Adelaide Fisher or Samantha Butterworth (Creative Producer) at firstname.lastname@example.org or call on 0420 45 20 88.
